Fun Fall Activities!

Thank you to all of our parents that were able to come out to our 1st Spirit Rally for the year last Friday!  It was a huge success and our 2nd graders did an amazing job performing several songs!  We had a fabulous group of educators who helped to lead us in some dances as well as a great pumpkin challenge race!  I will get some pics posted soon of the rally, our TCE Homecoming Float and our first few sessions of Texan Town!

Thank you to all of those parents who have helped to volunteer with getting our float ready and for those who have already been helping to be a part of our Texan Town each Friday!  We appreciate all you do for our kiddos!

Awesome Start to the Year @ TCE!

We have had an incredible start to our school year with "20 Years of Limitless Possibilities at TCE"!  I truly appreciate all that you have done as parents to help us begin our year!

Happy 20th Birthday TCE!!!

I decided to try something new this year with my communication to parents and our community for TCE.  I will be using this blog to pass along information about our learning, our STEM initiative, as well as sharing out info for upcoming events, celebrations, etc.

This will also be a great place for you to go as we delve into the year in order to see more about lesson design and instructional strategies we use to help our learners each day!

We have already had so many amazing learning opportunities for our kiddos and have had some great opportunities for our parents and community to participate in learning and fun at TCE!

Here are a few highlights:

National School Lunch Week

To celebrate the healthy lunch choices in Coppell, schools will celebrate National School Lunch Week: October 14-18, 2014. The theme, “Get in the Game with School Lunch” will include events and activities that promote the benefits of healthy school lunches. It will also celebrate the flavors, ingredients, and culture of our region, TEXAS!
The campaign will put a spotlight on the healthy foods and positive changes that Coppell schools have incorporated into their menus.   In addition, students are encouraged to taste a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables all grown in the great state of Texas.  They will be amazed how much better fresh can taste!  Each day during National School Lunch Week, elementary schools will be offering products from Texas.  Products used on our menu include:
Oak Farm Milk
Kurz fresh, baked bread
Texas grown, fresh apples, oranges, and watermelon (including a day of Mountain Sweet Yellow Watermelon)
A variety of freshly picked, organic vegetables from Walnut Creek Farms in Alvarado, Texas.  Produce from this farm include spinach, spring mix, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, shredded carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, red bell peppers, green bell peppers, and locally sourced baby cremini mushrooms!

We will kick off our “Grain of The Month” Program with a Sweet White Corn Salsa found on the Salad Bar daily!
