December is here. . .even though the cold weather isn't yet!

I hope all of you have been enjoying this beautiful weekend weather! Hopefully we will get some cold weather soon, since it definitely hasn't felt like a typical December.
Please see the following info for the latest updates from TCE.  Looking forward to a great two weeks before our next break, so make sure you are up to date with everything during this busy time of year!

Career/Hobbies/Talents: Learning Connections (updated link)
We have only received 8 responses so far, so I know there are more people who might be able to add to our list in which our learners could connect with this year!  Please see the info below!
We would love to know more about our parents/families specific careers, hobbies and/or special talents!  We love to connect our classroom learning to real world skills! Often we have parents come in to speak about specific topics or show our learners how to do a specific skill, also we have used Skype/Facetime to see parents at work! Many individuals have helped during certain days in our Texan Town time to help our learners to know more about their  careers, hobbies or special talents!

Please fill out the form below to share with us your information so we might contact you in order to help us with our goals for career awareness and life long learning at TCE!

CISD Strategic Design - Summit Meetings

  • See the following from the district and consider attending one of the meetings below (Monday, December 4th or Wednesday, December 6th).  I am a part of the district core team, so I will keep you updated as we go through the process, but please try to keep updated on this important process for the future of CISD.

We are embarking on a new district Strategic Design effort for Coppell ISD. This work will help us to create CISD's next set of priorities from which all efforts will be aligned.

Throughout this process, the District will collect input from all stakeholders:  parents, teachers, students, administrators, and local community members.  It is our intention that we actively listen to the ways in which the community wants to frame the future of CISD. The initial input process will consist of educational summits (to prepare you to consider your values and vision for education), an online questionnaire, one-on-one interviews, and district and market research.

From there, we will evaluate what we’ve heard and leverage those findings as input into defining and refining our core beliefs for education in CISD. This vital information will help aid in workshop discussions intended to define our next set of goals we want to accomplish.  By June 2018, we will have a defined set of strategies in place that the CISD Board of Trustees can consider for approval.

We invite each and every stakeholder to share your thoughts and your voice.  It is so important that we hear from you.  Please review the upcoming events calendar and consider attending an upcoming Education Summit.  As well, please let us know if you’d like to “get involved” at some point throughout this process, and we will find an opportunity for you, whether that be through completion of the Strategic Design questionnaire or other means.
Help us write the next chapter of Coppell ISD’s story.

Looking for Volunteers:  TCE Cultural Celebration Committee
We are planning for a new evening event that will be happening at TCE during the spring of this year.  We want to celebrate all of the diversity within our campus and get the chance for our kiddos to learn more about each of the cultures and family traditions that make up our TCE family and the world.  We are currently forming a committee that will be working on gathering ideas and helping to set the overall structure of the event.  Then we will be gathering more volunteers for the actual event later this spring.

If you would like to help in being a part of the Cultural Celebration Committee, please fill out the following form with your info!  We will meet one to two times after school in January (dates TBD) and then figure out any additional days for planning as we get our committee established.  We also have some of our TCE educators who have signed up to be a part of the overall planning as well!

TCE Shout Outs for Volunteers, Staff and Community
We are continuing to find ways for our educators and parents to celebrate all of our parents, community members and staff who go the extra mile to help out with our classrooms, in the office, for events, etc. this year!  Here are recent shout outs that have been turned in from our link!

Mrs Bowman — my son told me you are his favorite teacher because you “always have a smile waiting for me every day.” I appreciate your kindness and gentle way with our kiddos. You are truly a blessing!

Ms McGraw -- the third grade poetry slam was incredible! It was so well organized and put together. The kids had a blast, and I could tell they were really excited to display their hard work. It was sort of like a science fair for writers, and I wish they had had this when I was a kid. I loved it!! Great job to you and Mrs. Bowman and well done, all of the kiddos!

Beth Reynolds- thank you so much for all you do for our TCE garden!! Also a HUGE shout out for the incredible lesson you planned for our kiddos that integrated plants, composting, and money! You are amazing!! Love, First Grade

Big thanks to our Tonal Texan parents for the support and help with making our first off-campus performance a success! It was such a pleasure getting to spend time with both the learners and their incredible parents this Saturday at the Coppell Farmer’s Market. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!  -Mr. Miller

Mr. And Mrs. Wang , Thank you for organizing volunteers for our Thanksgiving Feast! It was wonderful!!!! Love you! Julie

A huge shout out to our K1 room mom Jinny! We love you for all that you do for us!

3rd grade parents, Thanks for everyone who came out to our first poetry slam! You made the event exciting for our kids and they loved sharing their poetry with each of you.  -Third Grade Teachers

Sue Campbell- Thank you very much for helping First Grade with Fall Rotations, reading every week with 1A, and working on projects at home! I really appreciate!!! You are so sweet to always say YES!! Thank you!!!  ❤ Lorri B.

Kinsey- Thank you so much for organizing all our Guest Readers for 1A! The time and day has worked out well, and the kids love for their parents to come read to the class! Thank you so much for giving parents the opportunity to connect with their child's class! You are awesome!!  ❤ Lorri B.

Paula & Ron - I am so thankful for all you do for TCE! You both are amazing!! You always are willing to help me with the crazy stuff I have going on and always asking what else you can do to help! I love coming thru the office and see your smiling faces! Paula and Ron are the Best!!!  Thank you! Lorri B.

Thank you to Beth Reynolds! I honestly do not know what I would have done at the start of this school year without her! Many days she graciously gave her time to help me set up the room and show me the ropes! Her presence provided comfort to our learners and this help make the transition to new teachers! You truly are a blessing to all of us! Thank you so much!! Love, Dianne J & Schuyler!
