Springtime Happenings!

TCE Garden Design Challenge

We are going to have a Garden Design Challenge in which all learners can turn in drawings, models, paintings, etc. in order to show what they would like for our garden area to look like for TCE.  We currently have several beds and have been working with a company, Real School Gardens, in order to find even more ways to incorporate real world, hands-on applications within our garden to enrich our academic learning.  

We are going to have our TCE Student Council work with a committee at the campus for choosing final selections for the overall design.  Until then, any ideas are welcome!  We are going to work with our Dad's Club/Green Team Volunteers in order to get going, but would love more helpers for when we get to our build!

Our goal is to build and get the designs in place for additional areas of the garden the week of May 15th.

3rd Grade Program
We will have our 3rd grade music program on Tuesday, April 11th at 8:30am and 6:00pm in the cafeteria.  We are looking forward to seeing our kiddos perform! 

TCE Hoedown

We are gearing up and getting ready for our biggest fundraiser and fun filled family night of the year! Our TCE Hoedown will be happening on Friday, April 21st from 5:30-8:00pm.  Please see the following reminders about t-shirts and punch cards!

The last day to order Family pack and T-shirts is this Wednesday, April 5 Punch Cards by April 12!

Parent/Community Tours
We will be having an opportunity for you to come in for a parent/community tour of TCE on Thursday, April 13th from 8:30am-10:00am.  This is a great chance for you to come and see our classrooms in action during the school day! We will take a campus tour of K-5 and our specials classes to see the learning and you can ask questions throughout the tour. This is also a wonderful opportunity for any new families who are new to TCE this year, if you are a family who never got the chance to come on a tour before or for anyone who might be coming this next year!

Weather Day

Please remember that we have a weather day on Friday, April 14th in which school will not be in session. 

Parent Volunteer Breakfast

We will have our annual breakfast to celebrate all of our wonderful Town Center parent/community volunteers on Wednesday, April 19th from 7:30am-9:00am.  Please feel free to stop in and be treated to breakfast and enjoy visiting for a while!

Spring Sprint Run

We will have our next fun run during your child's specials time on Friday, April 21st! (Due to scheduling conflicts with Sky Ranch, we needed to move it up from the 28th)

Dad's Campout

Our annual TCE Dad's Campout will be on Friday, April 28th.  More info to come on this event soon! 

Kinder Round Up
It's that time of year for our annual Kindergarten Round Up!  Please make sure that you have contacted the front office to set up a time for registration for your new incoming kindergartener if you haven't already done so!  This is a wonderful night to come and meet TCE staff as well as hear all about what your child will experience in kindergarten at Town Center!  Looking forward to meeting all of our future Texans!

 TCE Family Traditions Cookbook

Calling all cooks and their recipes!!! Doesn't have to be your own personal, can be one that you just truly love that someone else has created!!

We want to have the opportunity to create a TCE Family Traditions cookbook , since our theme is all about family and celebrating the diversity within our community.  We would love to have you share one of your favorite family recipes to go into our cookbook this year.  

If you are interested in participating, please send in your recipe to Casey Wagner, cwagner@coppellisd.com or you may send in a typed hard copy paper to give to the front office.

Final Push for Jump Rope for Heart

We are nearly to our goal of $20,000.00!  

We are currently at $17,130 in donations.  So, if we can raise just $2,870.00 more dollars we will be there!  I am going to give a little extension on our date to Friday, March 3rd then Mr. Shelby and myself will be slimed at our Spirit Rally  on Friday, March 10th if we can reach the goal!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!  We had a great day at Town Center celebrating and having special treats!  Thank you to all of the parents who were able to come out and help out with our class parties!  

We have several events happening this week and this month at TCE!  Please make sure you check out the following reminders and more info to come soon on some other spring time learning and experiences for our kiddos!

Jump Rope for Heart

We are currently in the middle of our service learning fundraiser to help support the American Heart Association. 

As of today, we are sitting at $14,417.00 toward our goal of $20,000.00.   

We have until Friday, February 27th

to meet our goal for this year!  On the 27th you are welcome to come up for our day of jumping during our specials times.

  Remember, if we reach our goal. . .Mr. Shelby and I will be officially getting buckets of slime poured on us this year during our March 10th Spirit Rally.   We'll see if we can make it to the target goal this year.  Keep those dollars coming in to help this good cause and to see your very own TCE administrators get slimed!

Spring:  Class and Individual Pictures

Don't forget that tomorrow, Wednesday, February 15th we will have picture day at TCE!  This is a great way to cherish those grade school years by purchasing individual and group pictures of your child's class.  If you have any questions, or need to get another order form just check with our front office.  

Engineering Extravaganza 

Family Night 

Thursday, February 16th from 5:30-7:00pm. 

It is time for our 3rd annual TCE Engineering Extravaganza Night. We will have STEM engineering design challenges throughout the building.   There are opportunities for every family K-5 to have fun and explore with hands-on learning together! Feel free to bring younger or older siblings to 
participate in the fun! 
We will also have several learners from Coppell High School and Coppell North Middle School showcasing projects in our gym as well as several elementary learners sharing  about our Lego robotics competition from this year.  

We hope to see you at TCE for our event! 

March PTO Meeting
Our next PTO meeting will be Thursday, March 2nd at 8:15am in the library.  If anyone that is available could please try your best to be in attendance at this meeting, since we will be discussing our big spring events (Book fair, TCE Hoedown and Field Day).  These meetings are a great way to get involved with the campus and learn about all of the happenings at TCE with learning.  We need every volunteer we can get to help make these fun family events successful for all of our kids and to keep all of you aware of the importance you play in making our school successful!

Book Fair
We will have our annual TCE Spring Book Fair March 6th-10th.  This is always a fun time for our kiddos and families to find some fun and exciting books to promote a love for reading.  We will have two days of Donuts with Dad and will be sending out more info as we get closer to the date!

Open House
Thursday, March 9th
TCE Open House will be just right around the corner, so mark your calendars for this fun night!  We love having the families come in and see all of the exceptional projects, presentations and learning that has been happening so far this year.
