Colder Weather on the Way!

We are definitely going to have some cooler weather starting this week! (at least that is what the weatherman says)  

Please make sure that your child brings their coat/jacket and gloves to school with them each day.  This is very important since we try to still have outside recess each day unless the weather does not permit due to cold temperatures or wind chill factors.  

It is helpful for us if you can remind your child/ren to keep up with their winter clothing brought to school by placing it in their cubby or backpack.  Also, please make sure and not to share jackets/hats with other kiddos!

 Veteran's Day Ceremony

Just a quick reminder that our ceremony starts at 8:30am tomorrow!  We are going to have it in the gym, due to possible cold weather.  If you could please check in at the office before heading to the gym!  Also, scroll down to the last blog entry to see more info if you have a special Veteran coming tomorrow.  They will meet at 8:00am in the teacher's lounge for a small breakfast.

Turkey Drive and Food Drive

We are gearing up for our annual CISD Turkey Drive and TCE Food Drive!  Please see the following flyers for info on our food drive and click the link below to donate a turkey online!  Remember that we will also be collecting frozen turkeys on Friday, November 21st in both of our car loops!

Car Loop and Crosswalk Safety

If you could please help us out in our car loops, to make sure to pay attention to kiddos crossing the crosswalks and the streets as they come and go to school. 

   It is a state law to not be on your cell phone and it helps us greatly when you are aware of your surroundings when driving through the parking lots and the car loops.  

Thank you for your help as we always want to make sure everyone is safe each day!

 

Pansy Planting a Huge Success

 A big thank you to all of our parents that were able to come out and help with our annual pansy planting this year!  An extra big thank you to Tim Tidwell who helped till up the ground for our flower beds and Beth Reynolds for helping to get our donations set up and ready to go for the event!  Here are some pics from that day!

 

Kindness Challenge

This week our Kindness Club (Texan Town Club) has challenged us all to take the Kindness Challenge!  I thought this might be a fun way for you to see how we are learning about the importance of being kind to others and how you might want to take this challenge as a family as well! 

Feels Like Fall!

It is definitely starting to feel like fall is in the air!  I hope that all of you are adjusting to the time change and your kiddos are ready to have an incredible rest of the fall semester at TCE!  

I wanted to remind everyone of a few events this month as well as give some info from the district.  

Election Site

Our campus is being used as an election site tomorrow, Tuesday, November 4th during the day.  We will have our kiddos go straight to their classroom at 7:30am tomorrow instead of lining up in the gym and cafeteria.  Please make sure they know this in the morning and we will be there to remind them as well when they enter the campus!

Pansy Planting

Remember that our TCE Annual pansy planting will take place this Friday, November 7th.  If you would like to order, please scroll down to the last entry on the blog and you will see a link to click on in which to order or donate. 

Veteran's Day Ceremony

We will be having our annual TCE Veteran's Day Ceremony next week.  Please see the following info with the date and time.  We would love to have any past or present Veterans join us at the ceremony.  We are also going to have our wall of stars honoring those who have served.  

We will send home a paper star copy with each student to fill out as well as you can also copy and paste to print out the one attached to this blog if you like.  

There will be a small breakfast in the morning for those Veteran's who are able to attend the ceremony starting at 8:00am as stated in the above flyer.  I am attaching the special invite below.  If you could please email Brett Shelby, our Assistant Principal if you have a family member or friend who will be attending, so that we can know how many to expect for the breakfast.  His address is:  bshelby@coppellisd.com

Spring Creek BBQ Night

Please remember our evening fundraiser event on Wednesday, November 12th, which will be at the Lewisville Spring Creek BBQ location.  This is a great night to go out and visit with our TCE families and our very own TCE educators and administrators will be there helping to get out those fresh hot rolls to your tables!
